As there are two distinct styles of worship at Trinity, there are different opportunities to connect with the music ministry.
Sanctuary Choir - strives to magnify the Lord through choral musical offerings of various styles from ancient sources of medieval chant, American folk melodies, through the classics and more contemporary gospel and relevant current Christian worship songs, as well as contemplative Taize pieces. Members are encouraged to sing from their heart, to bring humility yet excellence to their art, and to consider the choir as their extended family by bringing their prayer concerns to the group.
Regular rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the sanctuary starting in late August through the end of May. When there are special musical presentations (musicals or cantatas with live orchestral instruments) at Christmas or Easter, there will be additional rehearsals and extended practices.
Trinity Presbyterian Church offers opportunities to be involved in its contemporary praise and worship group. They focus on leading congregational singing with contemporary songs that appeal to the younger members as well as the older but "young at heart" people of our congregation.
We are always open for suggestions for new songs to sing to the Lord.
This choir is open to all men and women from high school age and up-no audition is required. We welcome anyone who feels called to share their musical talent, to set aside time to devote to rehearsals, to challenge themselves toward improving their skills in ensemble--all to the Glory of God.
Instrumentalist players to do obbligato accompaniments are always welcome and sought after.
During the summer, generally during the month of June, July, and August, the choir will be singing once a month. A pre-chosen anthem will be rehearsed one hour before the service on Sunday morning. No additional rehearsal is required. New voices are most welcome.
Soloists - vocal and instrumentalist - generally replace the choir anthems during the summer when the choir does not sing. Occasionally there will be guest ensembles, such as the Jeffco Brass Choir, during the service.
The Nathan Stuart is the Director of Music and Worshp Arts, who both directs the choir and leads contemporary worship. Come check him out!
