Our purpose of Mission
mis.sion....
a: a specific task that a person or group of persons is sent to perform.
b: an allotted or self-imposed duty or task; calling: one's mission in life
c: a place for evangelical and philanthropic work.
At Trinity we care about Mission. We want every Christian to:
- Understand and live into the specific task that Jesus has entrusted to each and
everyone of us as we seek to help the world know Christ.
- Find a personal, life mission that provides meaning and direction.
- Think creatively about our immediate community and the world at large as our
place of mission, exploring many ways to make a difference.
Opportunities to grow in Mission at Trinity:
- Take a class that will help you in the specific task of sharing your faith with others. "Disciple" is an in-depth Bible
study course offered midweek that will help you to know the Bible.
We also have adult classes on Sunday mornings that are specifically designed to help you share your faith.
- Attend the annual "Men of Faith in Mission" (if you are a man), where you will have the opportunity to discover your own
life's mission. All adults are also invited to participate in "Companions in Christ," a 28-week spiritual formation course that,
in addition to helping you grow in your faith, will foster an awareness of your own spiritual gifts and life's mission.
- Join the mission team, where creative places of mission and outreach are selected. Also consider becoming involved
in one of Trinity's many mission opportunities, from an adult and family trip to Casa Hogar orphanage in Mexico,
to Community Treks trips to Malawi, Africa, to helping with Interfaith Family Shelter as we house
the homeless in our church for a week each quarter.
